Hi everyone,
I'm in the market for a new ultraportable laptop. I'm going to wait until MWSF '08 to see if Apple has one for me. Assuming they don't (I prefer to be a pessimist than a let down optomist), I'm looking to the Vaio TZ.

Does anyone have experience with this laptop? I'd love to hear from anyone who bought it. I'll be using it to do mobile office work (namely word and excel), watching movies on long plane rides, internet browsing, email, the occassional photoshop, etc. Since these are such small tasks, I really won't mind being away from OS X, so I don't want to discuss that. Namely, I'm concerned with performance and reliability. With an low-voltage CPU, I'm not expecting a blazing machine, and with a small screen I won't be using many multiple windows. But, could I play a dvd and be typing a word document without any hiccups?
Also, I know I want the model with the dvd drive, but will I see any real performance increase from the 1.2 Ghz processor over the 1.06 Ghz? And as this is such an underclocked CPU, would I really notice any dramatic speed or battery improvements with the flash drive over the 4,200 rpm (pretty slow) hard drive option. I like the idea of flash, but I wouldn't be able to store many movies on a 32GB drive.
Thanks in advance,
Ado
