Anyone have recommendations for an ultraportable external drive such as Seagates GoFlex or WD MyBook? Looking for at least 1TB.

I've heard nice things about the new Lacie Porsche drives.

1TB portable drive, USB3, plus an elegant brushed aluminum design to boot.

I have to advise against USB3 right now. It is not available from Apple on any Mac at present. There are third-party cards / bespoke drivers available - but I tried this a few months back with a LaCie drive and found it rather unreliable.

You are probably best off with something using FW800...

Spidey!!!

i just bought a Toshiba 1TB external from Newegg on sale this weekend. looks to be good so far. I plan on plugging it into my airport extreme for the "DIY" time capsule

Any good 1TB+ Firewire 800 portable external drive suggestions?

While not 1TB the G Drive Slim is super portable, slim and lite. It comes in 500GB.
