ultrasn0w not working on 5.0.1? No service/searching

Well I have an iPhone with 5.0.1 firmware and 1.59.00 baseband. I have ultrasn0w installed but it never takes the T-Mobile signal. I put in the T-Mobile simcard but it goes "Searching..." for a few seconds then I get "No Service". This process repeats.

How can I fix this?
 
I just have to ask,

1. Does the sim work when it in another phone?
2. Did you disable 3g in network setting?
3. Remove and reinstall ultrasn0w.

Is there a way to disable ultrasn0w? I just installed it now and I tried turning off the 3G but that had no effect. Should I turn off Data Roaming?

Sim Card works in other phones.

I am positive it is 01.59.00 baseband.

Why would you want to disable ultrasnow?
That's what unlocks the phone and makes it possible for your tmobile sim to work.
Reinstall ultrasnow, reset network settings, restart the phone a few times.
Make sure 3G is turned off.
It should work. Play with it a little.
 
I just wanted to confirm there was no way I could have disabled it.

I wish I could show you guys how long I have been messing with this thing haha. Literally all day today and yesterday. Installing and re-installing ultrasn0w. Restoring the phone. I think I have gone crazy lol.

Go to settings/general/about and check the modem firmware version again.
 
eject sim and re-insert

Also rebooting phone might help.

This sometimes happens, its a nuisance but rather that than no phone function at all!

For non-americans you can leave the 3G on, only T-mobile USA has edge only and no 3G. T-mobile Europe does have 3G.
 
Well I have pretty much given up. There has got to be something wrong with the card reader. I will try ultrasn0w 1.2.4 and if that works I will come back but I doubt it.

1.2.4 doesn't work on 5.01 without replacing commcenterclassic

1.2.5 is especially developed for 5.01.
You have installed it from Cydia/Telesporeo repo?

Tried airplane mode.
Tried manual settings.
I downloaded it straight off Cydia.

I have to chalk this one up to some hardware error. I did buy this phone off eBay.
 
Did you uninstall ultrasn0w, restart and reinstall?
Also did you JB with the latest redsn0w 9.10b3?

Did you buy it with 5.01, or did you upgrade yourself.

Might wanna try to restore with a custom ipsw to a clean 5.01.
Make sure its a custom ipsw so as not to update your BB.

Rejailbreak an reinstall ultrasn0w.

I did exactly all of this. It was bought with 5.0.1. I did a clean install of the firmware again with baseband preserved.

I can confirm again the baseband is 01.59.00
 
I cannot find anything that works
iphone 3gs with 6.15.00 baseband I've jailbroken it over 7 times now in the past 3-4 days, used snowbreeze and redsnow (so it's not the jailbreak affecting it).
Everything works but ultrasn0w, just says no service,
settings > carrier does not appear at times and when it does no list can be shown manually or automatically.
is there ANYTHING I can do or is ultrasnow just messing up right now?

I am stuck in a similar situation.. BB 01.59.00 upgraded to iOS 5.0.1 .. now it still searching for Network ... Please help
 
Had the same problem as the OP: iPhone 4 01.59.00 bb running 5.0.1 jb'ed with a custom IPSW via redsn0w 0.9.10b5c for OS X. Installed ultrasn0w and had No Service. Flipping airplane mode on/off didn't work. Flipping 3G on/off didn't work. Ejecting the SIM didn't work. Finally, I flicked off 3G, turned on airplane mode and did a hard boot. Restarted, turned everything back on and now it works. Plus I have my 3 bars back, yay!
 
I have similar problem 3gs ios 5.01. bb 5.16.05

Jailbroke with redsn0w_win_0.9.10b8b installed ultrasn0w

get searching with any sim card.

uninstall ultrasn0w and original sim works fine.

reinstall ultrasn0w and it goes back to searching

uninstall ultrasn0w and original sim works fine again.

have tried to remove and reinstall mobile substrate - made no difference.

Basically ultrasn0w seems to create searching problem.
 
Jail braking my iPhone 4 unlock networks

I am having a similar problem

I have installed the jail brake software Cydia and then installed ultras0w

but hasn't unblocked the next works currently coming up with no service

I have tried to work with your notes but no luck

BB firmware 04.12.05
3g is off
OS 6.1

sim card is orange it works in other phones i have tested it the hand set is a iPhone 4 oriental manufacturing setting are for o2.

I have attempted to turn off and on several times as well
uninstall and install

got any advice

I have been at this for hours

Hi Dazzi,

Unfortunately 4.12.05 is the new iphone4 baseband for ios 6.1 and it is not unlockable.

The only baseband for the iPhone 4 that is unlockable via ultrasn0w is 01.59.00

Factory unlock is your only option I'm afraid.
