Have had a refurb 2:53 UMBP for just over two weeks and while I love it, one thing that I've noticed is that the dvd player almost always has the fans whirring when being used. My old Whitebook wasn't this loud when playing dvd's. Is this normal?

UMBP 15 inch 2:53 2008 - dvd player fan noise?

My old uMB sounded like it was chomping on the CD's. The fans you are hearing are probably just the whirring of the disc, which is normal.
