Under where I put my risk on my 15 inch unibody macbook pro if I drop the right side about .5 seconds later I hear a click as if something is locking or hitting something in the HDD, can someone help me...I have seen people saying its an accelerometer that locks the HDD so nothing is damaged but its not like I am dropping it?

Good chance motion sensor kicking in - retracts the head (?) to prevent damage to HDD.

I guess you mean wrist, not risk... but I'm not sure what you mean about dropping the right side? Is this something that happens every time you put your wrists on your MBP, or just a 'click' phenomenon that you are curious about? Sorry, it wasn't that clear to me what you meant, but I'd have to think iLog.genius's response was correct, and it's the free-fall mechanism activating a head park on the hd.

My Macbook Pro does this as well. It's the hard drive head parking.

Guy walks into a doctors office. He says "Doc, it hurts when I go like this!". The doctor says "Then don't do it anymore."
