UMBP ejecting/inserting CD noise

Hi,
I got my UMBP when it was released and since the beginnig I was surprised how noisy ejecting/inserting disks into the super drive can be. It really sound like the cd is being cut into pieces.

I just want to make sure that you also have this noise. My gf's UMB is not that loud.

Sounds like my new aluminum mb and the new aluminum iMac I just bought for my mother. When I first turned her imac on I jumped when it did that.

To me it sounds like the old Polaroid Insta-Matic cameras did when you took a picture. I love it.

It doesn't seem any noisier than when a PC lappie spits out its tray-load drive IMO.

ok so it is normal.

I think that it is louder than any other laptop. It actually wakes up my gf if she sleeps.
