uMBP HD startup scratching sound?

I have the uMBP 2.66 - less than 1 week old - and when it starts up, along with the startup chime, there is a short scratching sound.... is this the HD? is it normal? Its not that loud but loud enough to notice it without needing to put your ear to the laptop.

The laptop works fine so im assuming its normal - just the HD starting up...? Is it?

That would be the dvd drive. It's normal.

That is the Optical Drive checking if there is a disk in the drive. It is normal and there is no way to stop it.
