I've read everywhere that the keyboard gets "shiny", but does that happen to this trackpad, considering it's glass?

I checked the search feature and couldn't find anything, and the Google searches were all about older trackpads.

Thanks in advance!

Trackpad

Yeah, the keys do get shiny over a few months. The trackpad can get a worn look in the more heavily used regions. You can get a trackpad film/protector from various merchants like Marware or Powersupport; I have not found these to affect the function of the trackpad

yes. keyboard does get shiny after some use
in the end i bought a keyboard protector, it didn't cause anything much to the temperature maybe 1~2 celsius difference.

as for trackpad I'm not very sure since i clean it once a week
it's a glass trackpad maybe it is more durable
I like the feel and the texture on the trackpad
no idea how would it be with a film on it thou

hm, mine doesnt look worn at all. keyboard does. trackpad,no

Unless you are a freakish sweat machine or your hero is Pig-Pen and you emulate him in every way, no. The trackpad does not get greasy and the keyboard does not get shiny.

Do this and you'll never have an issue:

1) wash your hands
2) occasionally pre-moisten a lint-free towel with glass cleaner and wipe the trackpad, kbd, and screen.

In other words, clean up after yourself and you'll be good.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16)

The trackpad gets a bit oily but a little Windex on a paper towel takes care of it in 5 secs.

i didnt clean my trackpad for 7 months and its spotless...
not "wear marks" like the pre-unibodies.
its glass, it doesnt have ""wear"" marks.

would lysol disinfecting wipes work on the keyboard and trackpad? i don't want stuff that would leave sticky residue
