I am trying to connect my AEBS to an existing Airport network via WDS so that I can have a few Hard Drives on the network. I have succesfully connected the AEBS to the existing network and gotten it to work with WPA active, but am unable to access the HD connected to the AEBS. It just gives me an error saying that I do not have the correct password, account, etc. The air disk is available to attempt to connect to, but just always the same error. It seems like there might be some sort of authentication issue when WDS is active on the AEBS.
However when I just wirelessly connect to the AEBS with WDS off, I have no issues. It would seem that I am unable to access Hard Drives when I have the AEBS as a remote WDS or even as the main WDS router.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? If I cannot access the airdisk, then there is not much point to me having an AEBS considering I do not have any N airport cards.
(I would simply just use the AEBS, but the cable modem and other airport are in the basement apartment which is being rented by someone else. One solution is to talk really friendly and try to get control of the modem and move it into my place, but I really should not have to. There should be a WDS solution that will allow for air disk access)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
