Unable to add credit cards in wallet on silicon 14“ MBP. Clicking on add cards, i get a dialogue box saying my security setting was changed. When I go into recovery and select the security setting utility, security is set to highest level which is required for using the wallet app. Have tried downgrading security setting then upgrading to maximum again, no help. Tried re-installing Monterrey (latest version) and still no go. Spent some time with apple specialists and they are stumped as well. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I had this issue yesterday on my Mac running 12.6 and resolved it by enabling the Software Update settings to automatic. Apparently that's what's meant by the security settings since Apple Pay requires the latest security updates to be installed.

Did that and still no help.

Would you paste a screenshot of exactly what you're seeing?
See attached.

Thank you for posting that. I wanted to be sure it was the exact message as that support article. I am sorry you're experiencing this and it's stumped everyone so far.

No, I did some troubleshooting and came up with it. They had me redo it just in case and they also had me undo and redo the install system data files and security updates. One advisor I spoke to last week said she would research it and contact the upper level gurus. She called back this Monday and it sounded like she hadn't researched anything at all. I had to take an incoming call and somehow we were disconnected and she never called back. I am going to re-open this and see if I can get a resolution.

One other question: are you able to add a payment method in Preferences > Apple ID > Payment and Shipping?

I was able to add my Apple Card in payments and shipping(as part of the troubleshooting) and it is showing the correct balance.
