I am trying to add a keyboard shortcut to firefox to perform the email link menu item. In the keyboard shortcut dialog I add shortcut cmd-E for "Email Link..." which is under the File menu. When I add the shortcut it is correctly displayed next to the "Email Link..." menu item. When I perform the shortcut the File menu item flashes but nothing happens. It seems that the app knows enough that the item should be run but nothing else is done.
Anyone have any clues?

Tryout the Email This! add-on for Firefox. It will allow you to use a keyboard shortcut to "Email Link" with your Stand Alone Mail Client (Apple Mail, Thunderbird, Outlook, SeaMonkey, etc.)

After installing use the following keyboard combination to launch your stand alone mail client (Apple Mail):

option + command ⌘ + k
