I had updated Safari and a Mac OS security patch a week or so ago (Mojave 10.14.6 and Safari 14.0.1). Since then I notice some issues with attaching files to Gmail and Hotmail while opening these on Safari.

Gmail and Hotmail in Safari will not let me attach a file from my laptop. Every time I press the attach button in either of these emails, nothing happens.

I know that this can sometimes happen when pop-ups are blocked, but my settings are to "block and notify."

The same gmails work fine on Firefox.

I cleared Safari cookies and history, and also fully enabled pop-ups but the issue remains.

Please help. Thanks!

I'm having the same problem with Yahoo Mail and Earthlink Webmail. None of the various suggested cures I've come across have helped. However, the work-around of dragging a file from a Finder window onto the paper clip or ChooseFile button works. Irritating and clumsy, but it works. I think my next solution will be to switch to FireFox.
