Hello everyone!
Today I got the installation CD for OSX Snow leopard that I bought from the apple store. I was happy I could finally update the computer (intel-based iMac) and had no idea of the nightmare that was about to start... The installation began normally, but after rebooting and selecting the hard drive for installation the problems started. A message appeared saying that it was not possible to write on the selected hard drive, and I had to choose a different one o reboot and retry installation. I rebooted and after the grey screen with the apple the computer doesn't boot and shuts down. I booted from the installation CD and ran disk utility to try and repair the disk, but disk utility says the drive is corrupt and cannot be repaired. After that, I tried to install the OS in an external hard drive. At first it seemed to be working but then I got the following message "Installer can not extract the files for BaseSystem package. Contact your software provider. Click restart and try to install again". I have tried now 3 times to reinstall with the same result....
Any ideas on what to do???
Thanks!
