I used to be able to burn CDs with no problem at all and then my imac was
upgraded to the latest versions of the OS and ilife. I don't remember if I
burned a CD after the upgrade or not, but now if I try to burn a CD from a
playlist, it will start on the first track and immediately gets stuck and
stays there forever. I am unable to quit itunes unless I force quit. There
are no error messages or other indications that something is wrong. When I
force quit itunes it warns me that I am interrupting the burning process, etc.
When I try to play the CD it will display the tracks and when I click on a
track to play, there is nothing but static noise and all the tracks have the
same static sound pattern. I can burn DVDs just fine and play DVDs or CDs. I
am pretty sure that this is a software issue. Has anybody come across a
problem like this and has an answer? I did reduce the burn speed, but still the same problem.

Have you tried burning different songs from a different playlist, or have you only tried the same playlist and songs?
