The way I normally change an icon is to go the Command I or right click and Get info route. Its not working on itunes 9 icon. Tried it both ways, closed app, etc.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem. No luck either using the Finder or CandyBar.

Anyone else having this problem?

try permissions

i was able to change the icon by doing this...
use get info, change the "everyone" permissions to read/write. copy paste the new custom icon, then reset the permissions to the default setting.

Permissions could be it, but then Candybar should still be able to (as it does system files like Finder too, does it not?)

I checked my iTunes 9, which had the same changed icon, from iTunes 8 (it never reverted to original for me). My iTunes says I have read/write access to it, so changing it should be no different than with any other file.

Maybe do a permissions repair in Disk Utility and see if that helps.
