I was trying to check my data usage on my ipad 2 at&t and get the following error:

Your account type does not support the view account feature. (H5006)

Anyone know what this issue is?

AT&T swapped sims card and still get the error. They called iPad support and they say it is a sim problem but swapping it out didn't help.

I'm on the phone w/ AT&T now about this. In my case, they are telling me it's because my account was set up as a post paid device. I ordered mine directly through AT&T.

I am postpaid as well. This will be crap if it doesn't work for postpaid customers. Please let me know when you get an answer.

I got the same answer as well & I also ordered from the AT&T site. I use the myAT&T App to check my usage. Since this is the first month, the usage in Settings is accurate for now.

You can check your 3G data usage even if you're on a postpaid AT&T plan. Just go to Settings -> General -> Usage and look under Cellular Network Data. The information shown here seems to correspond quite well with the numbers shown at att.com/MyWireless.

PO'd. ATT never told me this was a POST paid account, and not a Pre-Paid account, and I had called them on the phone. apparently their support didn't even know. IMO, they only do this so they can get access your credit information and it's to ATTs advantage to get you on a postpaid, so customers who are not diligent can run up overage costs without having to pre-pay.

It was an online sale only. I'm gonna push to return it. Not happy about not being told what kind of account it was and full disclosure. It should be illegal.
