Yeah, it's happened to a few people. Don't worry, anyway, the last beta is beta 6 and you can't update to the GM OTA

from what i remember of previous ios betas you could in fact upgrade to the GM ota. i could be wrong but i clearly remember doing so with ios 5 and 6.

That link you sent seems to be just a bunch of users chiming in with their thoughts. Why do you believe this comment of BluPills to be fact?

Would you bother reading it?

People are complaining, they can't update from iOS 6 beta 4 to iOS 6 GM (or release version since it was the same build number) over the air

What does this prove to you?

----------

I got into an argument in another site because of this, I told the other guy that he can't update OTA to GM, I'll just post this link in his face.

He even said that he did it with iOS 6 beta, I told him not possible.

They're just mistaken, It's not worth arguing, they will understand they were wrong once the GM is out and they can't update.

Proves to me I'm an idiot and didn't read it nearly as carefully as I thought! Yes, historically relevant to how it was with iOS 6.

Why isn't apple letting users do OTA for the GM once it comes out?

I can't say for sure but you better start fresh right? They're totally different versions after all. Betas are for testing purposes while the GM is for everyday use.

You've never even able to. You cannot go from Beta to Release channel and visa versa via OTA. That's the way it was in iOS 5/6.

You can update using iTunes by downloading the GM ipsw from the dev center.

Any backup made during the iOS 7 beta can be restored in the GM release, so you want lose anything.

Are you being serious that once the GM comes out we won't be able to update OTA?

I'm super-serial! :D
