Hello all,

I have a Macbook running 10.6.8. We are in a campground with an open public Wi Fi network, (no password required). My wife has a Windows netbook and an iPod Touch, both of these connect flawlessly and give full access to the internet. My MacBook seems to connect to the WiFi network via Airport, but that is as far as I can get. If I try to connect to any web address, it just says "connecting" and eventually times out. I have used this MacBook on other public networks in hotels and airports without any problem, and often use it on our own private network from a Cradlepoint router connected through a Verizon AirCard.

Does anyone have any idea why my MacBook won't connect here, when it works everywhere else? I assume (perhaps wrongly?) that since my wife can connect her netbook and iPod, there is no problem with the WiFi network at our location.

It baffles me, but then that is not hard, I am an old guy in my 70's. Thanks for any help!

John.
