Hi - i am transferring my masters from one external hardrive to another (brand new) and i am getting the following error message after getting about about 15Mb through of 190 GB:

"You cannot copy library to the destination because its name is the same as the name of an item on the destination, except for the case of some characters"

The library is currently stored on a 2Tb Seagate drive (which works as my time machine albeit not partitioned) and i am trying to transfer it to an 2TB Iomega External Drive \
Any help would be appreciated as i have tried i think everything.....

Hi there

try formatting the Iomega to ensure it is clean of any files and then try the transfer again

Unable to Copy Aperture Library between HD's

Just tried it with no luck- reformatted the drive as suggested.......

Any other ideas??

For the record i managed to resolve this issue by formatting the new drive (Iomega) to the same format as my original external hardrive where the library was originally stored ie Extended (case sensitive-Journaled)

Posting this as i spent days looking for a solution - hope this helps others.

Thanks
