I updated to macOS Sierra a couple weeks ago. I've been able to create new encrypted disk images, using disk utility, without any problems until this morning. Now I get 'operation failed' with error code 5000. I see that has to do with access privileges but why would there suddenly be a problem with that?

I get the same result trying to create a disk image with or without encryption, whether using an Admin account or a User account, and the same failure message is displayed after a system restart.

Thanks for any help with this!
