Unable to delete folders from the trash because there locked?

Hi new to os x! My imac just came today!


I was putting music on the imacs desktop from an external hard-drive. I then put into my music folder and there was a music folder left on my desktop. I put it into the trash and it wont let me empty it saying its a locked folder! There is about 40GB in there that I really want to delete any ideas??

Have you tried pressing the Option key while emptying the Trash? That normally does the trick for deleting locked folders and files.

What is a locked folder and how is my music folder locked?? How do i unlock it??
