So, I'm a hoarder when it comes to my text messages. I like to keep them forever just because. Anyway, I have a friend whom I text with frequently (>100 messages/day) through my iPhone or MBP. We send a lot of images/videos etc and it's about 1 year's worth of messages.

I'm currently running out of space, and I noticed that my messages were taking up about ~3.2GB and I suspect it's from all the media in our messages. Even though I didn't want to, I deleted our entire thread. The phone/message app hung for about a minute until it was done. I looked in the usage section to see if I gained any space but there was none. I did a hard restart to see if it would refresh the free space, but it was still the same. Looking into the Messages app, I discovered that the entire thread was still there; it was automatically undeleted or something.

Anyone know what I can do to delete this? Yes, I could always restore as new, but I don't want to do that.
