Apple One Unable to downgrade extra iCloud Storage with Apple One Plus subscription

I am no longer using 4TB of iCloud, but cannot downgrade to nil extra as there is 800 GB in my account and the requisite options are not available

Any tips for sorting this out – quite ridiculous

I had a similar experience (2 months ago) and had to contact Apple support.
It would seem that the automated way of doing it, wasn't unto snuff at the moment.
And a manual change from Apples side was the best way to sort it
