Hi there,

It seems my disks aren't being indexed (I remember 'index disk' being an option in earlier OS's). I am storing work on an iPod for portability, and if choose to search for a font on the iPod for example, it cannot be found.

I run OS X 10.5.4

I have checked my privacy settings on Spotlight. The iPod has never been made unsearchable though this option in the past.

Any ideas? It seems like it might be a simple problem...

Thanks.

I use Butler and the search option which comes with that seems to work better for me than SpotLight

Is the iPod formatted for Mac or PC? I believe Spotlight only indexes volumes that are formatted with a Mac OS format.

It's Mac OS Extended (Journaled), so there shouldn't be a problem there.

As for installing Butler, I'd prefer not to have install anything else to get basic usability out of my machine!

Butler is a very powerful tool, as good as QuickSilver in my opinion, and it does numerous other things as well.
