Not sure when it starts to happen, but I have been trying to install apps on my Apple Watch but to no available.

Already tried to force restart both Watch and iPhone.

Anyone facing the same issue?

One at a time as mentioned and also try force closing the watch app and reopening, then one at a time. I get this issue occasionally too.

Did that. Video was just an illustration
did that video was just an illustration. What do you mean by “force closing”?
For the iPhone watch app...

Notched phone: swipe up from the bottom of the iPhone about 1/4 of the way to enter the app switcher, then swipe the app up and away to force close.
Home button phone: double click the home button to enter app switcher and swipe away as above.

How long did you wait for the watch app to install? Could take a few minutes sometimes. Also, how is the internet connection?

Also, did you try a hard reboot on the phone and watch?

iPhone: Volume up (press and release), volume down (press and release), press and hold side power button until Apple logo appears on screen then release.

Watch: Press and hold crown and power button together until Apple logo appears on screen then release.

I do most of my restarts this way when things are acting up.

I can leave it there for like 10-15 minutes it wouldn't install. and at times it will just stop spinning and the Install button will appear again..

Yes i did for both phone and watch.

Wonder if its got to do with the latest iOS or WatchOS update

I had this problem once before after an update. Unpairing and re-pairing solved the problem.

Is this after installing the iPhone app or is this directly from the Watch App Store?
have those apps on my iphone for sometime. and have also gotten my apple watch for sometime. just want to install certain apps on my apple watch which i have not done so previously.

Before you resort to unpairing and re-pairing the watch, might I recommend deleting the problem apps from your iPhone, then reinstalling back to the iPhone and see if they auto install on the watch, which they should. This actually helped in my case with this issue before now that I think about it.

Actually I tried installing a brand new app to try, doesn’t seem to work. But I may do a force restart and try again.

Had same issue with one particular app last week, dark sky, tried everything but won’t install so installed it from watch App Store and it worked. Could try that.

oh totally forgot about this and thanks for this suggestion. tried to do it then it prompted that they can't install and i have to sign in to app store with my apple id on my iphone which i thought i did. so i log out and log in again and it now works even when i try to install it on my phone's app!

If you haven't unpaired ... avoid.

Can you check your wifi connectivity as well please? Both on the watch and on the iPhone? cannot recall if your watch is GPS only or not.
it has been settled based on the above. Thanks!

Hey folks. I found this thread when I was having similar issues after buying my first watch with an iPhone 6s Plus. None of the suggestions worked and I had calling Apple Support on my todo list. However my phone was acting wonky before I did that - I was staring having problems swiping up to force close background apps - and I could not swipe left on the power off slider - so I did a hard reset to fix that. Right after that the copy the app to my watch worked.

So a hard reset might help, see https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/force-restart-iphone-6s-and-earlier/
