Hey guys,

I got one of the first retina iMacs in late 2014. I got it fairly maxed out. Has the 17, the upper end GPU, and (regrettably) the 3TB Fusion drive.

It arrived with Yosemite, and I was able at that time to bootcamp install Windows 8. Subsequently upgraded to windows 8.1-then Windows 10. Also went with El Cap.

About 3 weeks ago, Windows 10 stopped being able to boot. Started out as a successful boot every 4-5 times, then stopped entirely. Got the windows message that there was a problem, etc.

I had a WinClone image, and was unable to get it back installed.

Now, I have reformatted the drive mulitple times, and am unable to do a clean install, or ANY install of Windows. I have tried going back to Yosemite, and what happens is all related to "fragmentation" of the Fusion Drive. No matter what I try, I get multiple smaller partitions, without any successful install of window (always related to partition errors, unable to install to this partition, etc.)

I am not sure what's going on. I managed to get windows to format the drive, then back to El Cap to re-format, and have the full 3.1TB fusion, but no Windows install.

I've given up, and now accept I won't have a dual-boot machine, unless someone here can tell me how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Chris
