Hello.

I have an iPhone 3G. Recently, I could not connect to any of the wi-fi networks.

Some important characteristics of my issue:

  • It lists very few Wi-Fi networks which have high signal strength
  • I have an iPod touch which lists many other networks and i have no issues connecting to wi-fi using iPod touch
  • All my laptops/desktops are able to connect to wi-fi without any issue

I have tried the following already:

  • Tried "Reset Network settings"
  • Restarted my modem/router/iphone many times
  • Tried hard reboot in iphone
  • Restored to Factory settings
  • When I touch the iphone on wireless router's antenna, occasionally it connects

Sounds like I have some hardware related issue in my iphone.
Since more than 1 year has crossed and I did not buy extended warranty, my options are to live with 3G network or upgrade to new phone.

Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

One other point is that I recently switched from unlimited data plan to 200 MB plan... I'm wondering if there could be any "intended" bug to force me to use 3G and charge more money? :)
