OS X Unable to launch Steam games: CS 1.6 and Day of Defeat..HELP!!

Hey guys, I've owned my Macbook Pro now for 5+ years. Never played any games on it. It pretty much is just a glorified Reddit machine for me. But I love it to death. However, I've started playing Counter Strike and Day of Defeat again and I bought both games but I can't get it to run on my Mac! I'm frustrated beyond belief with Steam support, they take 1-2 days to respond to my emails and nothing is working, so I'm turning to you guys and hoping you can help!

My Mac is running OSX version 10.5.8. With 2.4 GHz and 4GB of memory.

Whenever I try to launch the games I get an "unable to launch game"
