While signing in to my 2FA enabled iCloud account on an iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1.2) from a clean restore of iOS, I get the following error:
"Could not sign in. The code you entered is not valid"
This occurs after entering my username and password once, then re-entering the password with the 2FA code I get on my trusted device amended to the end of the password, and then finally accepting the Apple EULA.
If I skip adding an account during setup and do so later from settings the error changes to:
"iCloud user name or password is incorrect"
I've tried changing my iCloud password and verified my trusted devices work for other sign ins.
After the initial password entry I am entering the 2FA password in format Apple instructs: password123456
