Unable to open DMG files

Hi, all of a sudden I'm unable to open any dmg file, Have run disk repair and re-started the computer, I'm on the High Sierra 4 , sometimes I get the message: Resourse Temporarily Unavailable, other times : Operation timed out, I haven't changed or installed anything new.

Problem solved, re-start computer press Command-R keys and on the opening window I chose to Re-install OS.
It is the only solution that actually worked.

Short lived remedy, system opens two or three dmg files and then stops. Guess I will have to revert to Sierra.
