Unable to Paste to Linux using Screen Sharing

I'm on MacOS 10.9.4 using the native Screen Sharing app to VNC to a Linux box. Copy/paste works fine from Linux to Mac, but not the other way around. I can't figure out how to paste anything from the Mac clipboard to Linux, and instead it keeps pasting whatever is in the Linux clipboard at the moment. Has anyone been able figure this out?

Note that Chicken works both ways, but I've been trying to find an alternative due to it being excessively buggy.
