Hi,

I am trying to pre-order the iPhone 5 online and I am getting the error message below - "The number you'd like to port cannot be ported to this service area. Please verify the number and address or click Go back and select "No" to the "Transfer your number" question to skip this step."

"The service area of the physical address entered does not match the phone number that you’ve asked to transfer. Please verify your phone number or enter the address where you plan to use your iPhone most often."

I am porting my number from TMOBILE to AT&T.

If I request for a new number online (so that I can place the order for iPhone 5), can I still port my iPhone to my existing TMOBILE number afterwards or will I have to get a new number?

Thanks,
Varun

Yes, you can order a new phone with a new number from AT&T. When you activate it, call up AT&T and tell them that you want to port your T-mobile number over.

Do not cancel your T-mobile account before the port or else you'll lose your number. Porting your number will automatically cancel your T-mobile account.
