Unable to receive MMS from other phones.

Off-topic note: I wasn't sure whether to post this in the Help section or the Hacks section, but I found similar problems in this topic so I decided to post here.

Anyway, self-explanatory. I am unable to receive MMS from other phones. I have a iPhone 3gs unlocked (T-mobile). I get the error about message resolution size.

I've tried every solution found on forums. The most recent one I've tried is this one https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/821026/ .

The weird thing is, it used to work before...At default, it didn't work, so I enabled it. Then it didn't work again, so I fixed it...then broke again and so I fixed it one more time. This time it doesn't work at all.

And so I've tried a variety of different things found on countless forums. I've also went into Cydia and downloaded the T-Mobile prepaid package or whatever. I tried all 6 of them. And each time I tried new network settings I restarted my phone.

Oh and I have 3.0 software. Jailbroken and unlocked. Also, I can receive MMS from other iPhones, but not other phones...

Any suggestions? And no I don't remember the settings that I've used when I fixed the problem. But I'm pretty sure I've used them after going through a number of familiar forums with network settings.


So in short
-Can send mms to any phones
-Can only receive from iPhones
-Can't receive from phones other than iPhones
 
That package works fine to send and receive MMS on my bros iphone on tmobile.
Maybe try giving them a call tommorow to see if they can help and make sure your account is setup correct for MMS on their end.
 
Yeah I can receive from other iPhones, but not other types of phones. Weird
 
Should I try rejailbreaking it? Maybe I've switched around the prepaid things so much that my iPhone is confused?

If you want.
You dont want to call Tmobile for assistance?
They are really helpfull towards people with unlocked iphones.
They wont give you any probs.
You dont have carrier data blocked on your iphone or anything right?
You can acess the internet thru Edge service from tmobile correct?
 
I doubt I have carrier data blocked on my phone (not guaranteed, don't know how to check this). As for the Edge thing, I've never tried it. Is that free? And yeah I don't know why I'm so hesitant about calling T-Mobile, eventually I will haha. Thanks for your help by the way
 
No I can't go on the internet without wi-fi because I don't pay for the plan with internet.
 
Sorry I think I should have reworded that. I have a T-Mobile plan, but it just doesn't come with the internet. Unlimited texting. I don't need an internet plan just to mms right? Or do I?
 
Well I mean it works...
I can send to iPhones
Receive from iPhones
Send to other phones
Just can't receive from phones other than iPhones
 
I've noticed the same thing.

I think it worked fine until a month after At&t had released MMS.
 
Jailbreaking is legal right? If I call t-mobile and let them know I have a jailbroken/unlocked iPhone they'll still help me with my mms problem?

Yes, Tmobile doesnt care.
They are usually helpfull to people with iphones on their network and they train their staff on how to deal with JB iphone configurations on their network.
 
Okay awesome. I'll contact them soon when I have time and when I do, I'll post results for people with the same problem as me.
