Hello, I'll explain my problem. I would like to exchange my iPhone 15 Pro Max at the Apple Store for gift cards in order to benefit from a more advantageous recovery before the release of the 17 Pro. In the meantime, I transferred my data to my son's old iPhone 12. I completed the transfer on August 16. Everything went well. Yesterday, I went to the Apple Store for the recovery, which also went smoothly. On my way home, I was surprised to find that the 15 Pro was still part of my devices. When I tried to delete it, he told me that it was impossible to change my account because anti-theft protection was enabled. I have to wait until August 23. I tried today (the 21st) to log out of my Apple account and then log back in, but I still have the same message, but the date has been changed to August 28th! I turned off the anti-theft protection, but I still have the same message. As a result, I can no longer change my account (change password, delete a device, etc.). Did it happen to someone else? Will I really be able to do something with my account on August 28th? Calling Apple support didn't change anything. Thank you for your help and sorry for my English; I am French.

Foresmost, I strongly recommend to be patient. I can’t find details about that specific action, however, it’s possible your attempt before the restriction lift date may have been the very thing that extended the delay period.
