When I connect my iPod Classic (7th gen) to my Mac and go into Sync Settings > Podcasts tab I see several old podcasts to which I am no longer subscribed. I am unable to find a way to remove them. I have gone into the Library > Group Containers > to my ID and none of them are listed. I have reset my iPod Classic twice with no success. I have also gone through any plist or preferences that reference podcasts or iTunes. I am enclosing a snapshot of what I am seeing. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I believe you remove them on the Mac side and then "sync" anew to remove them on iPod.

And while it might still work within Music, it might have moved to the Podcasts app now. I think Finder just presents lists set up in the other apps. I'd check BOTH of those apps. I just checked my own Podcasts, originally set up in iTunes and now they are managed in the Podcasts app, not Music.

If you think they are no longer listed in either app, uncheck the "Sync Podcasts" box, then sync (zero podcasts to iPod), then check the box again and a new list of syncable podcasts will likely appear, probably with the old ones deleted.

Found the solution. There was an old Podcasts database file in the Library. Deleted the file then rebooted and went back into the Sync Settings and voila no more old listings.
