I need to repair the start-up disk in my Macbook (late 2008..now "pro"), and I've tried restarting with an install disk. When it starts, I choose language, and then I only have the option between restarting and restoring from time machine. All menu items are greyed out, including disk utilities...

Is this normal? Should I click restore from time machine, and then before starting anything, go into disk utilities?...

Sorry I'm a moron. Don't select language first. Then it's alright:)
