Unable to Rip DVDs in iMac

So I recently installed my 120gb OCZ Agility 2 SSD into my superdrive bay and using a USB DVD drive but here are my issues, I can't rip a full dvd in Handbrake (it will rip up to 25 minutes and tell me its complete) and I can't play DVDs using the DVD player program. Was there a different way to format the SSD and relocating the home folder to the original 1TB drive?

Have you tried e.g. VLC instead of DVD Player?

I used vlc for watching DVDs so yup that works, but I still can't use handbrake to rip the DVD into mp4 format.

It's probably just content protection. Try ripping first with MacTheRipper and then encoding with handbrake.

I use to be able to rip it directly from handbrake just fine. It stopped working when I installed the SSD into the superdrive bay and started using a usb dvd drive.
