UNABLE to save pictures to photo album from SMS text

I cannot save any pictures sent to me through SMS text. Each time I open the pic within messages, touch "save image" nothing happens. The picture goes NO WHERE, it does not save into my photo album. PLEASE HELP....

Try a restore.
Setup as new when done, dont restore from backup.
Seems like a software bug.

App data yes.
Pictures you can save to a folder on your computer and sync them back after.
Also contacts you can also save on your computer and sync them back thru itunes.

All my current text messages should remain, right? Or will I lose them also?

Yes, those will be gone also.
I know it sucks, Apple should provide a way to sync back text and app data IMO in the future.

Well after restoring my 3GS, and setting up as new, the problem still exist. Unable to save pictures into my photo album sent through text.
