Unable to send or receive text messages on new M1 MB Air

I can't send or receive text messages on my new M1 MB Air. Settings in message preferences are the same as my old 2014 MB Air and that still works.
Really hope someone can help - thanks.
 
Please cancel that. I didn't have the new MBA toggled on in my phone message settings. I should have known better - sorry...
