Hi all,

Okay this is really bugging me now. I have my AirPods Pro and I have my Apple iPhone and Apple Watch. Most of the times I have my AirPods in my ears.

I want to say to Siri through my AirPods to start an outdoor walking workout on my Apple Watch. Siri then says to me that I need to unlock my iPhone for that and the iPhone shows some random unrelated workout opening up on the fitness app.

I don’t want this. I want Siri to open the specific workout app on my Apple Watch through my voice while connecting to my AirPods. The only way I have found the work out opening on my watch without the iPhone needing unlocking is if I press the Digital Crown then it works with Siri via my AirPods.

Am I doing something wrong here? I swear on the apple event presentation yesterday they showed an example of this working with Siri unless this feature is only for s9 and ultra 2. Help please.

I really should learn how to read. It works fine using Siri on the watch but, like you, when using it through AirPods it first will ask which app I would like to use then I have to unlock the iPhone. Absolute crock of ****!

Doesn’t work for me either. And I don’t think it ever has. Just yet another example, as if we need it, to prove that Siri is the biggest piece of **** ever invented!
Ah okay that sucks. How did they end up making it work in the apple event last night do you know?

Have no idea, sorry, I don’t remember them doing it like that. It’s just crap. You can get your AirPods to read the last message but you can’t start a workout. Typical Apple half arsed bollocks!

Just a thought, but what if you say, "Siri, start workout on the watch?" No idea if that'll actually work, as I never use Siri myself.

Yeah it’s crap. No worries thanks anyway.

Hey I tried that but nope does not work. It’s okay I will just activate it on my Apple Watch manually like I currently do.
