For a long time I've had a Mac Mini that I use as a media center and a backup server. I've backed up my windows files to my mac mini and vice versa for years. I've just purchased a new Mac Mini and I can't back up to it.

I use GoodSync but I'm pretty sure that's not the issue because I've downloaded and tested a few other sync programs, all have the same issue.

The first time I do a sync it's fine, then when I try to do it again I one of the following error messages:

Error analysing \\mac-mini\Data 03\Test: Invalid Signature. (error 0x80090006)
Or
cannot read folder invalid signature (error "0x80090006")

I've spent a huge amount of time on this and I'm running out of things to try. I have gathered the following information:

- If the problem folder is empty on the target, GoodSync will analyse, and sync the first time without any problems

- The next time analyse is run the Invalid Signature. (error 0x80090006) happens every time after that

- If I copy the files manually to the target the problem happens

- The issues seemed to be caused by the files in the folder, but if I copy the files in small groups sometimes I can get all the files to the folder and then the analyze will work. In other words, if I copy a particular group of files I can replicate the issue, but when I hone in of the files I can't make it happen in any consistent way

- It's always the same files causing the problem

- I've been through 1000s of files copying them, syncing them, etc, I can't get a consistent error other than copying all the files in the folder

- Some folders are fine

I’m out of ideas and getting desperate
