Hi guys.

I need some help please. I recently bought a used iPhone 5 from a friend. We use the same network so I put my sim into the phone and did a factory reset.

The problem is when I come to syncing the phone with my MBP. One of two things happens. Firstly the phone won't be recognised by my MBP. It won't even charge the phone from it :-/ Secondly (this has only happened twice) it did actually recognise the device and iTunes popped up and it asked if I would like to sync from back up. I said yes, but both times it turned the phone of and said 'unable to sync iPhone with back up due to being disconnected' (or something similar)

I've tried everything, restarting both devices, deleted the previous backup, swapped the cable but it isn't that.

Anyone know what's wrong with it?
