iPod touch Unable to sync music after 2.0/7.7

I've done all the updates (don't ask for the touch 2.0 firmware, I worked hard to get it legitimately) and now iTunes wont let me select and drag music onto my iPod. Podcasts and audiobooks are affected as well.... any ideas?

Edit: If I set up my iPod to auto sync my music, it seems to work fine. Its just the ability to manually sync is gimped.

Well, a few minutes after giving up, I stumbled on the answer, and I feel like a total shitbrain for not seeing it before. Turns out iTunes for some reason reset the option to manually sync media, so left it unchecked.

Bleh.
