unable to text photo

Hi,
I tried to text a photo from iPhoto, but I keep getting an unable to send message back on Mail. I was able to send the same photo to my wife's PC and was able to text it to my cell phone from Picassa and GMail. What do I need to change in OSX Mail to allow me to text photos.
