Hi all,

So I recently upgraded to El Capitan (I dont think this is too relevant though) and decided to turn on find my mac and filevault.

This enabled a guest user in the login screen. I then read that find my mac enables this account, so I turned it off. However it's still there.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of this account?

Cheers,
Jack

Okay so turning off filevault removes the account. How can I have filevault on without this guest account? Why does filevault need a guest account??

People theorize it's a trap for stolen laptops. Guest user only gives access to Safari and network interfaces, not the drive itself. That way, it can phone home if someone turns it on and gets on the Internet with it.
