I have been attempting to download AIM on my laptop and keep receiving the following error:

Unable to unarchive "aim.bin" into "Desktop"
(Error 45 - Operation not supported.)

I was successful in downloading and installing on my iMac but not so on my MacBook. Both are using the Leopard operating system.

Download and install Adium, or use iChat which is built into Leopard.

I am guessing this problem is not related to the AIM file but rather all compressed files of the same type. I have a very, very similar problem and so far have been unable to find a fix. I even updated the OS from 10.5.6 to 10.5.8, repaired file permissions, booted safe mode, ran disk warrior, nothing seems to work. I cannot unarchive a .bin file. Things were working just fine for my user and then all of a sudden he could no longer unarchive the .bin file. I can unarchive them on my computer but if I try it on his it gives the same error. but I can unarchive a .zip file.
