Help! Just tried to unarchive a 338 MB .zip folder that I archived in June using the Create Archive command under Finder/File -- and get the above error. More recent archived folders open fine. When it didn't work by double clicking, I tried to unarchive using Stuffit Expander but it just sits there. Yes I have most of it backed up on an external hard drive ... but not all. Using Mac OS 10.4.10

Unable to find how to locate the problem on Apple support. Solution, work around, alternate ways to find help on the support site? Thanks!

repair your permissions on your system drive, and also get OnyX and clear all the caches, then try again.

applications > disk utility >

then select your system drive and click the repair permisssions button.

Thanks for asking, Sean. I repaired perms and ran OnyX and cleared font and apps caches -- tried again but still getting same error message.

Do I have to also clear system or kernel caches -- and iNet caches (hate to lose my passwords, etc. so I could go in and delete selectively).

Thanks for your continued help.
