Unable to update iPhone software

Hi there,
For quite a while i'm trying to update my iPhone software but in vain. Getting the error message "iPhone software update server could not be contacted"

Also i'm sure that the network connections are fine.

Is that message from iTunes? Are you on the latest iTunes 8? And can you access the iTunes store?

If yes to those, go get the firmware here:
http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750
and do a restore with the downloaded file
