Howdy! On my 2017 iMac, I recently installed MacOS Ventura on an external SSD with a Thunderbolt 3 connection. I have been running off that drive exclusively and been very happy with the results.

However, when I try to update the most recent version (13.4.1), the computer goes through all the motions: downloading the update and rebooting the Mac a couple of times. But when it is finally done, the update has NOT been installed and I am still on Venture 13.4 (and the red circle remains on the System Settings icon nagging me to update.)

Am I doing something wrong? How can I get the upgrade to work?
