Hi, I've been trying to update my iPhone 6 to 8.0.2 for a few days now.
it has showed the download time to be anything from 20 mins to 20+ hours but every time it fails at some point of the download.
i have tried restarting the phone and the macbook air several times
any ideas on what i can do to fix this? I don't want to do it over the air in case of future jb problems.
thanks!

ah awesome, will give it a go now, thanks!

That's quite possible. Try something that resumes. Firefox plus downthemall should help

cheers, trying with downthemall now
though i was thinking what the heck is 'Down the mall" to begin with!

Thread starter,

The title of your thread is misleading.
You are not having trouble updating your iPhone 6 to 8.0.2
You are having issues downloading the 8.0.2 IPSW

i plugged my phone 6 into my mac, iTunes stated i could update to iOS 8.0.2, i clicked update and it won't work, i tried several times over a few days and it still wouldn't work....

to me that means i was having trouble updating my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.0.2 as my title suggests?!

downloading the IPSW is a solution offered which i am now trying

Just in case you hadn't realized it prior to beginning this thread, getting the IPSW downloaded in a requirement before any update can occur. :roll eyes:

You have an Internet issue which is causing the download to time out, likely you will find there is no issue when you actually update your iPhone 6.
